Keep Going

Here's how I rigged my toe for last night's run (and tonight's). First, a normal band aid and to top it off, duct tape. I wrapped the duct tape around the base and then over the top, so it wouldn't be pushed forward and fall off. It seemed to work and I'm going to keep doing it until the blister heals.

My legs still feel good. They are a little tired, but it felt nice to run my 5k (30.59, not bad after a long run day) on the tm and then head to spin class.

I have 6 miles on the schedule for tomorrow. After today's nice stretch (3 miles), I should be ready for the 6 tomorrow.

Have you ever taken a spin class? If so, what type of music do you prefer to spin to? I prefer dance type of songs that I know (90's alternative).

Also, can feet grow as an adult? It feels like my feet are too big for my shoes, is this possible? Maybe that's why I'm getting so many blisters on my feet???

  1. Haha, I totally use duct tape on top of band aids for a makeshift bandage! It's one of the great uses for duct tape!

  2. Yes your feet can grow in adulthood. My hubby's feet grew from a 14 to a 16. Crazy.

  3. I've never taken spin but have always wanted to. I think I'm just afraid that I'll fail miserably!! I definitely think feet can grow. When I first started running, my LRS fitted me in 7's and after a while I started getting blisters on the ends of my toes. I went back to get another pair of shoes and I got into some 7.5s (same brand/model of shoe) and they worked so much better.

  5. That is quite the contraption!

I take spin classes quite a bit in the 'off season' but can't seem to make the time when I am running 50-60 mpw. I do miss it though!

  6. that is an intense bandaid job!

i don't know about feet - but i know most people buy .5 to 1 size larger of running shoes than their regular shoes. feet expand with all the running/pounding/heat/etc. also you could check your toebox, if the toes are cramped and rubbing maybe you could look into a shoe w/ a wider toebox
