I completely forgot to take a picture of the cookies I made last night. I remembered when I got to work. So, sorry about the crappy cell phone picture and they're inside a baggy, too. My coworkers liked them. They were gone in just a few hours! I was very proud of myself, I never had one (not even at home).
I had too much crappy food last week, so I'm trying to eat better to get these last couple pounds off and be 100% happy with myself (I'm about 99.3%)!
I'm getting off of work about 1/2 hour later than usual (new time), so I only have time to run 3 miles before my spin class on Mondays and Wednesdays. Today, I pushed it to a 5k. I pushed myself hard and wanted to set an unofficial PR. I did!! Only by a few seconds, by every second counts (I've always said that).
My Oktobrewfest 5k (in Oct. 2010) I set my official PR at 30:26. My unofficial is 30:23. Hey, 3 seconds is 3 faster seconds than what I was. I am slowly, but surely getting there. All I care about is beating my old times, no one elses. I am breaking through my own barriers and smashing them to the ground!
In spin class, I again, pushed myself super hard. I couldn't believe how much sweat was pouring off of me. There was so much on the floor, I needed to put down a "wet floor" sign. It was a great class.
I'm again nervous. Tomorrow I have 10 miles on the schedule. Let's see how I do. My blister is getting better, but I think I may rig it a little so there are no problems.
You baked and didn't eat any? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteNice job pushing yourself--good luck with the 10--you'll be great.
3 seconds is one second a mile faster than the last time! I scored a 6 second PR on my half this weekend too. :) Great job on your race and those cookies look AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I found your blog through Hungry Runner girl so I figured I would stop just reading and say hi!
ReplyDeleteThats pretty amazing that you baked and didn't eat any. I don't think that is something I have ever been able to do hehe
Good luck with the 10 miles!
I AM MY BIGGEST competitor. Good luck with the 10er!
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine making cookies and not eating them!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I could have resisted a cookie fresh out of the oven - that is why I rarely bake!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the unofficial PR!
Hey I just came across your blog and I am loving it. I as well am training for my first 1/2 in May. Good luck on the 10 miler, I am lowering my long run this week and planning to do my 10 miler next week. I too am nervous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my blog! Good luck on your 10 miler!! And, 99.3% is pretty dang good! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you love spinning! I think spinning helps me more than anything on speed when I run. It really expands what you can handle and your cardio threshold. Helps in that final kick at the end of the race that can make or break you PR. On top of marathon training, I do spinning three times a week. Love how much I sweat!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy how much cycling/riding/spinning makes you sweat? Sometimes I feel like putting a towel down.
ReplyDeleteHey, Im a new follower! Good job on your PR (unofficial or not!) I have never done spinning...I might just have to check it out
