I had 10 miles on the schedule to run tonight. Well, I think it was the best run of the training schedule! I felt no pain (not even my rigged toe) and I can't wait until my next run.
I rigged my foot so my blister wouldn't be effected by the run. As I'm typing this, I realized I hadn't taken a picture, yet. I'll post one tomorrow. I out a normal band aid over the blister, then duct tape to make the band aid stay on. When I took it off, I could see a small blister on the toe to the right and the current blister was very slightly effected. This isn't nearly what it wold have been if I didn't do anything. I don't think I could have finished the 10 miles.
The ice pack has been my best friend lately.
ReplyDeleteI would not know the answer to your question because I have not run 10 miles... YET! One day (hopefully soon), I will DO IT!
Great job- keep up on the no hurt train! :)
ReplyDeleteI felt like I was going to throw up after my first 10 miler! I think I felt sick the whole day!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the awesome work!
Congrats on the 10! I remember my feet protesting loudly during/after my first 10.
ReplyDeleteMy first 10 miler was actually a HORRIBLE run and I remember feeling so defeated. The one I did after that was so much better.
ReplyDeleteI felt like I could conquer the world after my first 10 miler. Granted, I ran it at a much slower pace than I typically run, but I hit a plateau and felt like I could make loops for days!
ReplyDeleteI can't remember my first 10 miler, but AWESOME that yours went so well! Are you training for a half marathon?
ReplyDeleteGosh, my first 10 was last summer and I felt so accomplished hitting double digits!!! Ice is a great call--keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteHaha, you are so cute!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first double digits! The best advice I can give for runners starting to get into the longer runs - compressions socks are saviors! Wear them right after you run and the day after. Your muscles will recover so much faster!
