Look what we found in our tomato planter. These are little fungi growing in there. We did some research of what they are and if they will kill the plant. We found this and this. So, we're safe! They look so cool!

Drinks & Fungi
Remember a few months ago when I started my decanting process? Well, it was time to finish the process. It was time to pull out the jars from the dark corner and strain them out. Here's what the strawberries looked like after 3 months.
The final product is much prettier and tastes much better. My favorite was the strawberry one. It smells like a can of kerns juice.

My working out will start back tomorrow evening. I will be back on track and spending a nice amount of time sweating again. I did enjoy the time off, but am glad to be back. I'm not on a training plan, so I'm not going to be so strict with myself. At least until December when I start my new training plan for the Shamrock Half in March. I can't wait!

Decanting & Jack Rabbits
Since we went to the farmers market yesterday, we decided to pick up some "extra" fruit so we can start our decanting process that one of our friends brought our attention to last year. First thing is first, sterilizing the jars.
While they were sterilizing, we got the fruit and anything that was going in the jars ready for packing.
It didn't take very long and everything is ready to be stored for about 6 months. We have 4 jars, which include raspberries, peaches and strawberries mixed with sugar, gin or brandy. Yum!!

Lunch time was coming after we got done, so I fixed us a huge fruit salad to share. in the mix was raspberries, strawberries, bananas, peaches, honeydew and grapes.
On the way home from the farmers market, we needed to stop off at Target to get the mason jars and while we were there, I just happen to see a couple pairs of running shorts that just happen to be my size. I love them and they're super comfy.

Here's the other pair.

This morning, I met my friend at the gym and my new normal workout schedule. I ran a quick 5k. It was my fastest one yet...28:34!! I'm getting so fast, I'm like a little jack rabbit trying to get away from a predator. I also lifted weights with arms and legs, as well as doing a core mat workout. I was there for about 1 1/2 hours (as usual). I can't wait to go back tonight for my ripped class.
What class do you look most forward to at the gym?

Cordial Decanting Party
Tonight, some friends invited us over for a Cordial Decanting party. It was pretty fun and everything tasted great! I've never heard of this before and was very curious. Basically, Cordial Decanting is when you soak alcohol (they used rum, vodka and brandy), sugar , maybe some spices and fruit for at least a few months. Once this has taken places, you strain the fruit from the liquid with cherry cloth (I think that's what it is called) and drink the liquid. The longer it sits (after the decanting process), the better it tastes. Usually, at first, it's pretty strong, but good.
Here are some that hey had already decanted a while ago.

There were so many flavors that they decanted tonight.
Here is some key lime. We also had some pomegranate, plum, peach and some others that I can't think of right now.

Getting ready for the final process.

In action. Here they are straining the liquid.

They had some yummy food, too.
