Date Night

Today was a standard day. I was very excited to get off of work because of all the fun things I have planned for my weekend. Tonight my and husband and I went to the concert in the park. I couldn't wait to get off of work.

Cereal...check, yummy Greek yogurt with fresh blackberries...check, 1/2 whole wheat sandwich...check, off of work for some fun...CHECK!!

When I got home, I packed our ice chest and bag and headed off to the concert. I wanted to get there early, so we could get a seat in the shade. I wasn't sure how many people would be there (it was a different location than last week), and I wanted to make sure we could be nice and cool. Here's the band playing some music. They were a classic rock bank called Eclipse. They were a good band to listen to.

Here we are having a good night relaxing and eating good, home-made food (Jason being his goofy self...we're a perfect couple). Of course, there was a lot of pizza, popcorn, sodas, candy and that kind of stuff. I am so happy none of that looked appetizing.

Alright, I have to confess that I forgot to take pictures of my food, until I was almost gone. Here's our set up.

Here's our bag full of goodies: egg salad sandwiches, beer, water, and blackberry shortcake.

Here is what is leftover from the shortcake. I had made everything last night, put them into appropriate containers (to fit in the ice chest), and got everything else ready as much as possible.

I do have left over blackberries, I will probably put them in more yogurts this weekend...or maybe a smoothie; I do have fresh bananas. We had some beers with dinner and will finish the night off with a few waters and a cool shower. It's time to put up my legs up and relax. I have to get ready for my first ever night night race tomorrow.
What do you eat before a night time race? I've always had morning races and had breakfast foods. I may do that tomorrow and have a protein bar before the race. I can't wait for the expo. Hope it's a good one!

  1. Never done a night race, it'll be interesting to hear about it.
