Running in Circles

That's exactly what I did yesterday. I ran an out and back route. I these are my favorite kind of run. When it's a new run, I like knowing when I'm close to being back.

I have medium length hair. When I run, I tie my hair in a ponytail and usually have a band to hold my hair back. Whenever I run, my ponytail makes this funny silhouette. Up and down, that's what it does. It's not annoying or anything. It's stays out of my face and in the ponytail.

Women (and men with longer hair), how do you wear your hair while running? Does it bounce like mine?

I'm taking next week off, but I'll be back and show you pictures from the party. I'll stay up to date, reading your blogs and commenting. Keep the posts coming!

Are Longer Runs Actually Shorter?

Instead of spin class, I ditched it for an outside run. I've been running 5k's lately and I really felt like I really need to run longer. I need more sweat and hard work. My body wanted all that salty sweat in my eyes. I needed to push myself harder than I have in a while. This was my longest run in a very long time (remember that I'm not in hard core training right now).

It was such a great run, I loved every minute!! I felt like I earned every drop of sweat. The thing is that the 6 miles went by in a flash. Whenever I run my 5k, after work, it seems to take forever! I loved that the 6 miles went by so fast. I think the longer a person runs, the shorter it actually is. Don't you just love my red face that comes along with my hard work, and very salty sweat?

When I got home, I relaxed. And, when I say relaxed, I mean playing with the kittens (they're actually 2 years old, but I still call them kittens). Recently, I brought home a huge tube from work (it's about 5 feet tall) and they love playing with their play mice inside. So cute!

Do you think the longer you run, the less time it feels you were out?

Food Everywhere

I had a great 6 mile run tonight. It was a little difficult today, though. I really wanted to be home and relaxing and eating dinner. What made it even more difficult was that the Food Network channel was on all the tv's. Yummy food was everywhere. I don't think gyms should have the channel on because it made me extremely hungry. I'm going to shower, ice and compress. This weekend I'm going to run to the gym to do some weights (part of my new routine) and then run home. I'm estimating a total of about 4 1/2 miles round trip. I'll work my arm, legs and abs with the weights. It's just like last weekends uber workout, just with running to the gym. It should be exciting. There aren't many sidewalks on the way there and back. I'm glad I have my reflective gear.
Left overs are for dinner (super yum) and a new recipe tomorrow. I hope everyone is getting their plans together for the weekend (it's suppose to be nice here, come visit when ever you'd like!)!

What are your plans this weekend? I have my workout and we're going for a hike near Mt. Diablo on Saturday. Sunday is our standard relaxing day filled with movies and staying in our pj's until 4pm.
