The Toe that Lost the Fight

This is what happened to my toe after my last race. It doesn't hurt, at all. I've painted my toes since and it looks a little better.

This only happens on my left foot. Never my right. And, it only happens after 13 miles or more. Sometimes, I wish my camera didn't take good pictures. I hope you guys weren't eating while reading this.

What are your post-race ugliness?

  1. So far I have escaped black toenails! The worst I get are small blisters!

  5. My 2nd toe nail gets like that, but not my actual toe skin. Hmm. Is your 2nd toe longer than the big? (mine are) I've never tried to figure out how to prevent it.

  6. I had a black toe nail after my first marathon and it took months before it finally fell off. IT was so gross. Thankfully it was winter time so I wasn't wearing sandals.
