Mid week run!!

Since the hubby was home for a doctors appointment today, I took advantage of the sunny morning & went for a run. It was so nice out this morning! The sun was shining, birds were chirping, a slight breeze was in the air and I was ready to run.

My legs were tired from yesterday's leg workout. I have t run in tired legs in a very long time. It was a tough run & my time was proof of it. Oh well, I had a great run!!

I had made green waffles for St. Patty's Day. When Lars woke up, he didn't want waffles (I pre-make them and then freeze them). He asked for eggs and toast. It wasn't a big deal, so that's what we had.

Earlier in the week, I had made foccia bread, and we finished it up last night. It was good (but not Lars approved).

Any fun plans tonight for St. Patty's Day? What did you have for dinner?

Mismatched Normalcy

I think I may be getting back to normal. It may not be normal for everyone, but it's normal for me. Actually, it seems to be a little better. My runs are feeling so good, and it seems like I'm getting faster. I will hopefully be able to tell at this weekends Super Bowl Sunday 10k. This will be my first race of the year and my first 10k race, ever.

I was able to run 3 1/2 miles without any sort of pain!! Afterwards, my spin class. It didn't feel as difficult as it usually does. That only means that I wasn't pushing myself as hard as I usually do.

When you go to the gym (mostly geared towards the girls, unless you guys care about matching), do you normally try to match your entire outfit? I see a lot of girls that match from head to toe. Really, everything matches according to their shoes. Here's an odd picture, but here's what I wore tonight:
I had my dark blue (with lighter blue and white stripes) capris, pink tank and red and white jacket. My shoes are white and almost a lime green. I'm not one of those girls that care what I look like, unless necessary. The gym is not necessary (not meaning to hurt any one's feelings). I'm just curious of what you guys think.

Tonight's dinner is going to be some toast with home made apple butter, fruit salad (with some of what you see below) and probably some greek yogurt with home made granola.

What was your dinner like? Do you ever crave the most simple things for dinner, instead of what you already have prepared? I do often.

Sans Garmin

Another bright and early Sunday morning. I woke up at 7:30 am and had a small bowl of my multi grain cereal and started to get ready for my run. I went to put on my Garmin, and noticed it was dead. I couldn't believe it, I had to run outdoors sans Garmin. I haven't done that since I got the Garmin. Oh well. I wasn't going to wait a 1/2 hour until it was barely charged enough to go. It was already starting to get warm. I went on with my run. I timed myself the old fashion way, by a standard watch. It was an average run, until I was heading back and came up and over the freeway and my MP3 player died. I forgot to change the batteries! It was a morning that was telling me not to run. At least I ran without injury. My knee never even bothered me.

This was also a day without the camera/phone. Barely any photos, sorry about that. I refueled post run with 1/2 a small Gatorade, the rest of my cereal and a cup of coffee. I'm glad I went running when I did, it was hotter today than it was yesterday (at least it felt that way). Once I got cleaned up, and cooled down, I was still hungry (a few hours later). I wanted to cool off with my favorite summer time snack, the fruit salad. Yummy-ness!!

I must have really worked up a hunger, because several hours later, I was starving. I decided to eat something I knew was going to fill me up...PB on toasted wheat bread and a bottle of water. I drink a lot of water, and it really quenches my thirst.

For lunch, I had left over pizza from Friday (one slice left). I had dinner plans to go to my parents to visit out of town family. My mom made her great pasta salad (kind of like my potato salad, just with small shelled pasta), hot dogs, veggie with dip and olives. More yummy-ness in my tummy!
Dessert was great, I wish I would have taken a picture. I was a small piece of chocolate cake and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. It was so nice to eat outside, in the shade. Perfect summer time dessert.
I'm home now, and I think I will cool off with some ice cold water and a cool shower. Bye for now!
