Speaking of being injured, my knee is feeling better. When I run, I only feel a little pain. On the other hand, when I spin, I feel pain going up my leg. The pain starts at my knee and slowly goes up. I've been taking it easy, icing, taking some NSAIDs and elevating the knee. I don't feel any pain with my other workouts. I'll try the stair stepper tomorrow and see how that goes.
After the run, I enjoyed my 60 minutes spin class. That's where I felt that slow pain. It was a good class, and I was able to get in a good sweat. I did good tonight. I also decided that I won't be doing anymore yoga until it starts to get light out. It's so difficult to leave the gym at 8pm, come home, shower, fix dinner, and straighten the house all before we go to bed at 10pm. I read for about 1/2 hour before I started nodding off to sleep. When it gets darker earlier, I have a hard time being motivated. I'm putting in more miles, so I don't really need yoga for that reason. it was just nice to be able to stretch so much after a hard workout. I think I'll keep practicing some moves, and if I feel like I need it, I'll go to a class. The only class that is available to my schedule is at this late time, otherwise, I would do another time.
When I got home, I explained what was for dinner and had hubby prepare it. We has chicken (from what I roasted over last weekend) teriyaki over brown rice and green beans.
It was really good. Until I tasted it, I didn't know he did anything else to it. Once I ate a bite, I noticed he put in some additional ingredients. He added some ginger and some red pepper flakes. It was pretty good. I love it when he cooks for me. It gives me more time to relax and spend more time with him.
What was your workout today?
From the pictures you posted, you look like an amazing cook! Be careful with that knee pain. Have you tried stretching when you feel the pain? There have been a few times during my runs that I have developed a tightness/mild pain in my knee. I stopped, stretched, then resumed running. Luckily, the tightness/pain always subsides.
ReplyDeleteAs always the food looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time with motivation in with the early darkness too!
I am not a fan of these dark evenings!
ReplyDeleteI hope your knee starts to feel better in Spin.
It might be your foot position on the spin bike that is causing the knee pain.
ReplyDeleteginger and red pepper flakes sound like a great addition! I did Body by Bethenney today...wasn't impressed.
ReplyDeleteHappy to find your blog...I have some catching up to do but looking forward to reading! :) Hope your knee feels better.
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting that biking hurts your knee more than running does. you'd think that running would be a lot harder on it. BUT, I suppose that is a good thing!
